My First Game Jam strives to create a safe, supportive, and productive environment regardless of a participant’s prior experience, age, gender, race, religion, or sexuality to explore and learn new things in any aspect of game development. It is expected of all participants to treat each other with respect both inside and outside of moderated My First Game Jam environments.

Do not discriminate or harass others. These result in an immediate ban:

• Discrimination or harassment, including based on prior experience, age, gender, race, religion, ability, or sexuality
• Use of hate themes, symbols, or discriminatory jokes and memes in any jam spaces, including names, icons, and bios
• Purposefully misgendering others or mocking pronouns (ie “my pronouns are dude/bro/etc.”)

Respect the purpose of the jam community. These will result in restriction of your account:

• Rude, sarcastic, or mocking interactions with other jammers, including in reacts
• Spamming, especially off-topic content including gifs, memes, or videos
• Inappropriate or tasteless jokes, remarks, or discussion
• NSFW content on the Discord server (Note that adult content may be posted on the forums with the appropriate warning in the title)
• Soliciting or advertising right before or during the game jam for anything other than resource sites or servers related to game development
• Soliciting for paid work
• Discussion legitimizing NFT, crypto, blockchain, or Web3 games

Engage respectfully with others. Hold yourself and other jammers accountable to the following:

• Only give critique when asked, and make sure it’s constructive! Avoid putting down others whether talking about your own or others’ work.
• If you are 18 or older, we ask that you act appropriately and responsibly throughout the duration of the jam. This includes the discussion of mature content in official MFGJ chats and forums.
• If you are under 18, we ask that you use caution while interacting with other jammers. If someone approaches you in a way that makes you uncomfortable or unsafe, please get in contact with a jam host.

Hosts and moderators have the final say on all moderation:

• We reserve the right to warn, restrict, or ban any member who makes the jam space unwelcome even in cases not explicitly outlined in this code of conduct.
• Violation or debate (including jokes, sarcasm, and bad-faith arguments) of the code of conduct will result in being removed from the game jam and its respective communities.
